I saw many different plants and animals like the Japanese Beetle, the Tiger Moth, and the wild Virginia Rose. I really liked the picture of the Tiger Moth because it was orange with black stripes. When I was out there, I felt like I knew more than I usually did. I learned that I could eat the wild rose. We heard Catbirds, Crickets, and Crows. We saw the Sweet Pea Flowers plus Thorn Apples. I got to experience the real thought of nature and I enjoyed it. I found a Tiger Moth. It was really cool. It was flying all around the place. It was tan with black stripes and had small antennas and six legs. We also took pictures of flowers, thorns, and, different insects. The thorns that we took pictures of are really colorful and beautiful. On that picture we cheated and put a leaf with dew beside the thorn. That helped made it look like a photographer’s picture. It had a lot of purple and yellow in the thorn. We took a lot of pictures of Granddaddy Longlegs. One of them we saw had seven babies on its leg. The babies were red. We took a beautiful shot of the longlegs it was standing on the leaf with a lot of green in it. This Granddaddy Longlegs was hard to find. When we first found the Longlegs it was on the bottom where all the leaves are. We took pictures of the beautiful nature at Washington-Lee Elementary. I enjoyed seeing all the nature that was here. I took pictures of ground ivy, raspberries, and a hovering fly. It was quite interesting. First, I took a picture of the ground ivy. It was purple and very pretty. It was easy to take a picture of this plant. There was a lot of them. Then, I took a picture of raspberries. Some of the leaves looked white. That is because when the leaves flip over, it means rain is coming. At the end, I saw a weird looking fly. It was hard to take a picture of the fly. I managed to take four pictures of the fly. We couldn’t figure out what the flies name was, so we called it “Mystery Fly”. I heard the sounds of birds and a lot of other sounds. It was a great experience. I learned that we could eat the Virginia Rose, but I never tried one. My favorite part was taking the pictures. We took a lot of pictures. All of them were great. It rained yesterday, so that helped us take better pictures. I took some pictures of Honey- suckles, Sweet Pea, and Granddaddy Longlegs. Some of my friends had better pictures, but I still liked mine. I had so much fun!

by Kimberly
